XC-Ski Trails

The Nordic Club is an active participant in maintaining and expanding the Fourth-of-July Pass Ski Area trail system.

The groomed trails are available to the public largely as a result of the volunteers and monies that the club has provided through the State of Idaho Park-n-Ski program. This trail system offers intermediate and advanced levels of skiing.

Please do not bring pets on groomed ski trails

There is now a snowshoe track at 4th of July.

Amenities Fourth-of-July

Through tremendous support by the U.S. Forest Service and the efforts of Club members a warming hut has been constructed on the Fourth-of-July Pass Ski Area trail system. This 16 ft. by 20 ft. hut provides a warm place for relaxing after skiing-and for the Club’s “Rock Soup” moonlight ski evenings.

Approximately half way around the main loop. The club has installed a picnic shelter, and recently added an outhouse. This is in addition to the vault type outhouses at the parking area.

Use funds raised by the sale of Park-N-Ski stickers, Club events, and grants to improve and expand the existing trail system and its amenities. Specific items presently proposed include the construction of several small sheltered benches, grooming of roads above Forest Service Road 614, and brushing and grooming of the existing South Fork of Cedar Ck. Trail, and the purchase of new grooming equipment (see the January, 2005 Newsletter)

Wave to the Snowplow Drivers. They volunteer to plow our parking area and access road. And all we give them is a basket of cookies and our heartfelt appreciation.
