Presidents
Address
Greetings for the New Year! Now that we need to shed
those holiday pounds, what happened to winter? Where did
the snow go? This cant be another repeat of last
years weather pattern. And I just put on new,
studded snow tires. Oh, the glass seems half empty.
On the bright side
.. The December Club meeting was
very informative and there were lots of cookies exchanged
and consumed. Ted Farwell gave a great presentation on
his story when he was a ski racer and competed in three
Olympics in the Nordic combinedcross country skiing
and ski jumping. And why would anyone want to do the
latter? Maybe that would be a method to scare those
pounds off. He also talked about his business, appraising
and designing downhill ski areas. There were lots of
questions from the 30 plus in attendance

Pray
for Snow and Cookies
Snow is needed for upcoming free Ski Day at 4th
of July and all state parks in Idaho on Saturday,
January 7. Snowshoers are welcome also. Remember
we are an equal opportunity winter sports club. Well,
maybe not snowmobilers. Cookies are needed
for the occasion, plus volunteers to
person the cabin and spread the news about
Nordic Club and serve refreshments.
Also Jackie Beery has requested even more
cookies and treats so she can assemble a basket
of goodies for the State Highway Department who
ploughs 4th of July parking lot as a favor to the Nordic
club. So if you dont have a connection
to the powers that be regarding the white
stuff, make some cookies and volunteer to help out at the
free ski day.

Want To Be in Pictures
Please bring new and old photos of club
happenings, i.e., ski adventures, 4th of July cleanup
activities and summer hikes. Jeannette is our historian
and will put them into our photo album for this and
future generations to admire. Please label the pictures
which will help to limit arguments regarding who, when,
where or what happened at a specific club function.
